Even if you feel great, it could cause a stroke, aneurysm, or worse! If you've lived or worked with smokers, or if you're over 45, you may be at risk and not even know it. Give yourself peace of mind. Schedule your vascular screening today (only $99).
If you suffer a heart attack, undergo angioplasty or by-pass surgery, or if you're at risk for developing heart disease, it's likely you'll enroll in our two-part cardiac rehabilitation program. (A physician referral is required before admission.)
Cardiac Rehab at Baptist Easley Hospital is a lifestyle-based program including education, exercise, and maintenance regimens overseen by registered nurses certified in cardiac life support, an exercise physiologist, a dietician, and vocational rehabilitation personnel.
Education
You and your family receive information on a variety of topics such as:
•· Understanding heart disease
•· Exercise education
•· Nutrition
•· Pharmaceuticals
•· Stress management
•· Vocational rehabilitation
Part I
Once released from the hospital, and referred by your doctor, you'll participate in a structured exercise program several times a week for up to 12 weeks. Your heart activity is monitored before, during, and after sessions on treadmills, stationary bicycles, Nusteps, balance balls, weights, and various exercises. The goal is to prepare you to return to work or resume your day-to-day activities.
Part II
This phase is for patients who have completed Part I or who have been referred by their doctor for risk factor modification. It is a lifetime maintenance program to help you continue a heart-healthy lifestyle.
