Financial Matters

Upon admission, we will assign you with your own personal patient representative who can help you with questions about your account.

 

Our Financial Operations Center is located at 301 E. First Avenue in downtown Easley. We are open 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Payments should be made at this location.

 

Pre-Certification:

 

Our Business Office will try to obtain pre-certification for insurance policies that require prior approval. However, it is the policyholder's responsibility to assure that this is completed. Any penalties outlined by the insurance carrier will be the responsibility of the policyholder. Please contact the Business Office if you have any questions.

 

Insurance:

 

We can file insurance for people who have health care coverage, but please remember that services are rendered and charged to the patient and not to the insurance company. For these services, a claim will be filed to your insurance company for the total charges. The estimated amount due from you will be based on contract benefits given to us by your employer or insurance company at the time of admission.

 

If your insurance company does not pay your claim in a reasonable amount of time, the hospital will bill the responsible person for the balance due. It may be necessary for the policyholder to contact the insurance company to help expedite payment or contact your patient representative for assistance.

 

Credit Policy:

 

Our credit policy limits our ability to accept monthly payments. Patients whose situation does not allow for payment in full should make arrangements with our in-house billing agency, Hospital Receivables Services, Inc., who will help you establish a payment plan that works best for you.

 

Overpayments:

 

If you overpay your bill, Baptist Easley Hospital will issue a refund that you should receive within 10 working days. However, overpayments will be applied to any existing balances owed to the hospital before a check is issued.
